Being a youth worker means being a catalyst for change in your environment where you can build relationships with young people and motivate them to become active in their surroundings and improve their living conditions and opportunities. The first step to understanding your main role is to ask yourself: How do you see your role? You can choose one of these roles or combine several roles based on your skills and abilities:

1- Helping young people find their own way to participate and engage in their social environment.

2- Achieving positive change in the community.

3- Inspiring young people to create the innovative ideas that the community needs.

4- Giving young people the opportunity to explore experiences and cultures around the world.

5- Providing young people with a positive self-image for themselves and their community.

6- Offering interesting activities for young people to engage in during their free time.

7- Equipping young people with the skills to secure funding for their pioneering projects.

8- Creating a strong connection between youth work and benefits for the entire community, as there is no successful community without happy youth.

10- Doing something for "someone else" but also for "yourself" as it is your opportunity for professional and personal learning.

11- Developing the minds of young people.

12- Providing non-formal education and safe recreational activities during free time.

13- Providing space for self-development and creativity.

14- Being aware of their identity and status in the local community.

15- Giving young people an active role in the community and making them responsible leaders.

16- Training and qualifying young people in various skills.

17- Participating in the youth lifestyle with the aim of designing projects according to their desires and specific needs.

I don’t think there is anything left through which we can know that we are working with youth. What has been mentioned encompasses all types and methods of working with young people. You just need to ask yourself what unique skills I possess and have mastered that the youth in my community need? And don’t forget to ensure the integrity of your personal motivations in working with youth and that your goal is noble.
