The Belgian Youth Council (Conseil De La Jeunesse) is the official body and spokesperson for youth in Belgium. Its role involves engaging young people aged 16 to 30 in daily life, particularly by gathering their voices on a series of topics that directly or indirectly affect youth and then conveying this to the political world. The Youth Council represents the interests of youth at both the national and international levels.

The main tool of the Youth Council for voicing the opinions of youth is through issuing official opinions. It then ensures that these proposals are followed by concrete steps to improve the lives of young people recognized by all. Although the organization does not have decision-making power, it plays a real role in communicating with decision-makers and formally and systematically conveying the voice of youth to them.

The Youth Council represents a positive change in the lives of young people as it achieves many "victories" to ensure the rights of youth, develop their skills, and represent them at international summit conferences at the United Nations and the European Union. The Youth Council has also contributed to addressing discrimination between young men and women at work, reducing unemployment, and introducing classes on emotional, social, and marital life in schools, as well as integrating media awareness programs and regulating the media content directed at youth.

The Youth Council was established to listen to young people and engage them in life in a civilized manner that complies with the government laws of the state and does not exceed decision-makers, but simply conveys their voices to them through official means.

The four main tasks of the Belgian Youth Council are:

1- Issuing opinions that represent the views of young people on current events, occasions, and decisions.

2- Encouraging youth participation in daily life, building the community and state, and contributing positively and effectively to increasing the gross domestic product.

3- Consulting young people to know their opinions on issues that concern them and are related to their lives and conveying this to decision-makers to take it into account when preparing projects and plans.

4- Representing youth at both the national and international levels in all fields.

The Belgian Youth Council creates committees and working groups dedicated to carrying out these tasks, and the general assembly regularly provides these committees and working groups with members and material resources to enable them to perform their duties properly. Additionally, the Youth Council often organizes discussion circles, consultation sessions, and decentralized forums to gather the opinions of youth on specific topics.

The Youth Council also sends young delegations to many international summit conferences to represent Belgian youth around the world, and it has played an active role in the process of shaping the youth plan launched by Minister Evelyne Huytebroeck in 2010.
