The National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector reviewed the achievements of the sector during the year 2024, as reflected in the annual report for Saudi Vision 2030 for the year 2024. The report pointed out that key performance indicators in the non-profit sector exceeded actual targets.

One of the highlights included in the annual report of the vision regarding the non-profit sector was reaching 1.2 million volunteers during the year 2024, representing an increase of 48.3% compared to the number of volunteers in 2023, thus achieving one of the targets set in the vision document six years ahead of the year 2030.

The report also included volunteering statistics in various aspects, as the national volunteering platform was established in 2020, currently hosting 2.1 million registered volunteers, with over 7,000 registered entities, reaching more than 542,000 volunteering opportunities in 2024, amounting to over 80 million hours.

Regarding the economic impact of the non-profit sector, the report highlighted the contribution of the non-profit sector to the gross domestic product (GDP), which was 0.99% in 2024, exceeding the actual target for the same year, and progressing towards achieving the target in 2030, which will be 5%. The sector also saw an increase in the percentage of its workforce from the total labor force, reaching 0.64% by the end of 2024, approaching the target for 2030, which will be 1.1%.

In terms of growth in non-profit organizations, the non-profit sector achieved a significant increase of 252.76% by the end of 2024, compared to the baseline in 2015, bringing the number of non-profit organizations to 5,700 at the end of the year.

The report indicated that this growth in the non-profit sector was in line with the vision's objectives to empower the community through a wide range of social, cultural, and economic reforms, aimed at achieving development and enhancing the role of the community in national development more effectively, ensuring integration in national efforts among institutions and individuals.
